Promoting full bodied awareness & healing. My interest in the world of massage began with my own chronic pain in my body from years of misuse. At one point I had enough of having a hard time sitting up and out of bed at the age of 20 I started to seek regular massage and chiropractic care. Within months I was virtually pain free. I graduated from Cortiva Insitiute in Watertown, Massachusetts in May of 2014. While I was attending school I learned many different modalities of massage including sports, deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, and myofascial release. I also attended a seminar on how to treat and prevent sciatica this past February. I am extremely passionate about myofasical release because it is dealing directly with connective tissues such as fascia.
I find that I do my best work with any chronic neck and shoulder injuries!
Our bodies communicate to us clearly and specifically, if we are willing to listen. ~Shakti Gawain
I received my first massage while in the midst of my graduate training in Northern California. As a student of physical theatre, it was necessary to keep my body at its healthiest. After experiencing for myself how massage therapy can lift your mood, heal your body and improve your quality of life, I was hooked.
Being informed as a movement and physical theatre artist has amplified my knowledge of the body and the way it moves through space. This unique perspective gives me a better understanding of how over-worked muscles respond to therapy. My client base ranges from professional athletes, Metropolitan Opera singers, dancers, actors, medical doctors to everyday office workers.
I am a proud graduate of Massage Arts of Philadelphia and teach movement and physical theatre at Plymouth State University.
